Deep South and beyond

Bentota Ganga Mangroves. At least once a year, our family will do this excursion
as the boat ride is simply fascinating.

Stunning Galle Lighthouse & picturesque harbor is a must see for any local or
overseas visitor. The cricket ground will be up and running soon, but the
existing art and architecture is very haracteristic of the Portuguese,
Dutch and British ruling.

Rated amongst the top 12 beaches in the world, Unawatuna Beach, Galle is
our favourite getaway during the school holidays or long weekends.

Spectacular Dondra Light House located at the south most point in Sri Lanka.

A breathtaking digital taken from the Dondra Lighthouse.

The pictures from the lighthouse only gets better. So if you are in Sri Lanka and
heading towards the Southern National Parks, don’t miss an opportunity to
view the different shades of the blue waters.

A wider angle of the Dondra head.

Dondra. Located strategically in south Asia, I was told that the ships and yachts’
pass the lighthouse at close quarters due to its natural shipping lane
characteristics of the region.

Yet another stunning view from the Dondra Lighthouse.

Dondra Lighthouse. The climb to the top of the well maintained lighthouse
is only 30 minutes if permission is granted. After visiting the lighthouse,
I have decided to do a photo documentary on all the lighthouses on the Island.
Riders to do this assignment are welcome.

A lesson to keep nature unaltered.

Yala Village, the hotel which was in tact after the Tsunami due to the
presence of the great sand dunes.

This was our final destination when four families decided to cross the menik
ganga and hit Walas Kema in Yala Block II. I took my binoculars to scrutinize
the famous Little Basses whilst the kids of 4 families had a ball, a location which
is known for bear sightings.

Situlpauwa Rock Temple located on the boundary of Yala National Park.
